Each week's study has brought us new understanding about the believer's pursuit of holiness. This week we were asked to delve into The Holiness of Christ. Focusing on Christ's holiness helps us to thwart Satan's attacks and also serves as an example for us to follow. As Bridges said, "In all of our thoughts, all of our actions, in every part of our character, the ruling principle that motivates and guides us should be the desire to follow Christ in doing the will of the Father."
We would love to hear how you have caught a glimpse of Christ's holiness this week and how you have been seeking to follow Him as your role model. As always, please keep your comments current and on topic.
We'll accept comments for this chapter through June 30. We will cover Chapters 5 and 6 during the week of July 1-7. We look forward to reading about your thoughts and insights.

I just picked up my copy of the book and I am so glad I jumped in to this study.
This chapter reminded me that it's not enough to do the right thing. My attitude and motive is important, too.
Page 43 states "His moral purity serves to magnify our impurity." It's a short simple statement that is so true and so powerful.
Hi Anne. I underlined that comment in my book, too. But don't leave it there. The next sentence said, "Therefore, it is important that we receive the same assurance that Isaiah received: "See...your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for" (Isaiah 6:7).
In the light of Christ's holiness we're all impure. Thank heaven He was willing to purify us and call us holy!
This weeks lesson really made me ask many questions of myself. Am I bold enough to ask someone to seek out sin in me? Can I even say that sometimes I do what pleases the father? The ending question I asked and have been asking myself daily is: Am I willing to stop being selfish and self seeking and lay down the life that Christ gave me by dying on the cross in order to life the life that He gave me through the cross?
I was struck by Bridges challenge to consider Christ's statement "I always do what pleases Him." He then asked Do we dare take that as our personal goal in life?
Too often I fear I don't. I know mostly want to please God rather than always wanting to please Him. I wonder if anyone else ever feels that way.
